SQL Server Developer

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager of Back Office Technology, the Developer will participate in developing and maintaining the firm’s clearing system, an automated process that integrates information from multiple clearing firms and prime brokerages to report consolidated risk and financial data, along with a related set of operations and maintenance tools. They will assist in researching and responding to ad-hoc requests from business users and developers as necessary.

Core Responsibilities – Participate in:

- Development and support of the firm’s mission-critical nightly clearing process

- Development and maintenance of a set of start-of-day and end-of-day external and internal reporting tools

- Development and maintenance of a set of position, trade and financial reconciliation tools

- Investigating and resolving occasional inquiries from operations and financial staff

 

We have a laundry list of user applications that our operations group uses in their day to day work, some of which need major and/or minor updates.  All of the applications hit against our MS SQL Server database, and generally involve complicated stored procedures.  There are multiple applications involved, some of which are written in C# or VB, others of which are written as an ASP.  I envision that we could keep some busy for 3-6 months with this work, but also if this is a Contract to Hire sort of person we may be interested in keeping them of if all parties are satisfied.

 The successful candidate would be bright and energetic with a proven job history (preferably 3+ years) in the above stated technical space, especially in SQL Server.  A history in the financial industry is a plus, and in trading would be a bigger plus.
