Secondary/Captial Markets Analyst I

Primary Characteristics: Conducts secondary marketing analysis in multiple areas to provide product and pricing information and development of risk management strategies. Please note this is an entry level analytical role, recent college graduates with internship or other experience encouraged to apply! Essential Functions: • Administer all secondary market duties that aid in the selling and purchasing of loans • Develop databases to provide relevant statistics for secondary market management • Provide values for daily pricing and buy/sell transactions • Provide accurate market prices used for pricing, hedging, pipeline and trade positions • Perform analysis of the effects of secondary market conditions on pricing model. • Translate mortgage product and pricing requirements into rules for product and pricing engine • Communicate with traders to ensure accurate market price information is utilized. • Provide analysis of application pipeline and inventory of closed loans to assist in trading (and hedging). • Inventory loans, monitor rates and loan balances and prepare loan packages for traders. • Monitor markets and recommend/establish rates and programs for the company to protect rate risk of pipeline • Analyze new investor products for price competitiveness and to manage risk parameters. • Evaluate and plan strategies for improving operational and financial risk management. • Develop quantitative/analytic models and applications in assigned area of secondary marketing • Generate reports as necessary to document analysis in assigned area of secondary marketing Minimum Qualifications: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities): • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills • Exceptional database and spreadsheet management skills • Strong math skills • Effective at managing workload to meet multiple deadlines under sometimes intense time pressure. • Must be detail oriented and able to ensure accuracy when working with data and reports • Must be able to recognize and work out underlying issues to generate correct analysis • Working knowledge of secondary marketing concepts, practices and procedures • Working knowledge of mortgage banking industry and loan marketing Training and Experience: • 2+ years experience in mortgage banking, loan marketing, real estate financing or related field • Bachelors in finance or business related field required, advance degree preferred.
