Secondary Marketing Analyst
The Secondary Marketing department of First Republic Bank provides pricing to the Bank, establishes and maintains relationships with potential loan purchasers, sells any and all loan assets for the Bank, creates loan products, monitors the mortgage market, and works hand in hand with Relationship Managers, Loan Teams, and Executive Loan Committee in order to facilitate the origination of residential, multifamily, and commercial real estate mortgages. The Secondary Marketing Analyst calculates and distributes daily pricing, provides market color, locks portfolio and investor loans, manages all rate and program changes for individual clients, provides service to Loan Teams, and generally provides support for, and reliable tracking of, all loan sales activities related to the Secondary Marketing Department of First Republic Bank.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Calculate daily pricing and creation of, maintenance of, and distribution of rate sheet.
2. Communicate daily financial news and market color to Loan Teams and other bank employees.
3. Execute rate lock functions in Loan Processing System.
4. Assist where needed in the negotiation of pricing with Relationship Managers and/or investors, and assist Loan Teams with rate lock and loan program questions/issues.
5. Secure and verify terms of confirmation of sale from investor and distribute to the appropriate departments.
6. Provide ad hoc reports as requested.
7. Provide administrative assistance for Department Manager.
8. Assist with any and all projects as needed for the department (i.e. software implementation, changes to loan programs, and departmental changes due to regulatory requirements) when necessary.
9. Perform duties and assume responsibility specific to department functions and activities.
10. Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as required or assigned by supervisor.
11. Responsibilities include the following: 1) adhering to and complying with the applicable, federal and state laws, regulations and guidance, including those related to Anti-money laundering (i.e. Bank Secrecy Act, US PATRIOT Act, etc.) 2) adhering to Bank policies and procedures, 3) completing required training, 4) identifying and reporting suspicious activity to the AML Officer, and 5) knowing and verifying the identity of any customer(s) that enters into a relationship with the Bank.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
1. College degree and five years working experience in a banking environment, preferably in mortgage lending.
2. Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint.
3. Familiarity with loan processing, loan servicing, and secondary marketing systems preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Vision must be sufficient to read data reports, manuals and computer screens.
- Hearing must be sufficient to understand a conversation at a normal volume, including telephone calls and in person.
- Speech must be coherent to clearly convey or exchange information, including the giving and receiving of assignments and/or directions.
- Position involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.
- Must be able to travel in a limited capacity.
