Securities Safekeeping Analyst II

BASIC PURPOSEFacilitate the movement and safekeeping of securities for the Bank and its customers. Work with internal and business partners to maximize customer relationships and insure high quality customer service. Work to maintain the integrity and accountablility to the Bank’s systems by thoroughly and accurately testing the applications.PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Provide technical and analytical support to the Member Sales, Collateral, and Capital Markets areas by proactively monitoring assets pledged to advances, insuring adequate collateral coverage. Possess a thorough understanding of the Bank's credit policy and the risks associated with insufficient collateral coverage, as well as, the regulatory constraints on our members.2. Analyze, verify and process payments for all income producing assets held in safekeeping utilizing our automated system. Reconcile customer payments to Custody, DDA and General Ledger accounts insuring the timely payment of principle and interest. Identify problem areas that may result in potential exposure and recommend corrective action, to protect the Bank and its members. Perform security payment research as required reporting outstanding items to management.3. Process and oversee the receipt and delivery of securities in a timely and accurate manner, monitoring the movement of funds, researching position outages and failed trades reporting outstanding items to management.4. Process securities pledged to third parties and the release of securities, upon receipt of required documentation.5. Assists manager with developing analysis, reports and database queries.6. Ability to take the lead in projects, testing and other assignments as delegated by manager.7 Provide customer support for electronic safekeeping application, providing ongoing telephone support, facilitating problem recognition and escalation to the appropriate technical contacts.8. Performs daily and weekly reconciliations6. Performs other duties as assigned.JOB SPECIFICATIONS1. BBA, BS or BA degree with a major in Finance or Accounting. Prefer a minimum of 4 years directly related safekeeping or custody experience.2. Thorough knowledge and understanding of complex securities including settlement and payment features, as well as, familiarity with safekeeping/custody trading and broker/dealer functions. 3. Advanced proficiency in spreadsheet programs and PC word processing.4. Ability to manage workload, set priorities, and exercise sound judgement while meeting goals and deadlines.5. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of safekeeping systems including information process and flow.6. Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.7.
