The Senior Accountant – Global Accruals has overall responsibility for ensuring global accruals are properly recorded in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP requirements including compensation related accruals and global allocations. The Sr. Accountant will prepare consolidated analysis schedules related to global accruals including balance sheet and income statement variances. The Sr. Accountant will provide support for financial statement and regulatory disclosures, globally. The Sr. Accountant is responsible for recording bonus and related compensation and other global accruals to the subsidiaries. The Sr. Accountant will prepare stock accounting entries including vestings, forfeiture, awards and 123R accruals. Operational Responsibilities: • Posting of global accrual entries within established timelines including bonus, ESIP, employee commissions, audit accruals and other allocations. • Prepare consolidated analysis schedules related to global accruals including balance sheet and income statement variances. • Prepare stock accounting entries including vestings, forfeitures, awards and 123R accruals. • Perform bottom-up bonus accrual build and allocation to subsidiaries. • Assist with accounting entries for new compensation plans and arrangements. • Provide support for financial statement and regulatory disclosures (global). • Liaise with FRI accountant on stock-related entries. • Coordinate with Treasury on purchases of shares for mutual fund awards and assistance with vesting arrangements. • Coordinate push-down accrual entries for compensation and other global accruals with regional accounting contacts. • Communicate and follow up with Accounting contacts for issues/questions on legal-entity level entries and postings. Periodic Responsibilities: • Participate in departmental projects and/or participate in cross-departmental projects. • Assist with maintenance of policies and procedures related to global accruals. Other Responsibilities: • Assist with Consolidations and Best Practice intiatives as needed. We look for • Three to five years of Accounting experience required. • Bachelor and/or graduate degrees with a focus in accounting and business. • Thorough knowledge of GAAP and Accounting processes required. • Public accounting experience preferred. • CPA or equivalent professional accounting designation preferred. • Knowledge and exposure to international accounting issues and requirements preferred. • Knowledge and exposure to compensation related accounting issues and requirements preferred. • Experience with automated financial systems, including the general ledger, required. • Advanced excel skills required, including pivot tables. • Experience working with large volume of data and close attention to detail required.
