Senior Application Systems Engineer

S1 Corporation is seeking Sr. Application Systems Engineer for a full time position in Norcross, GA.

The Sr. Application Systems Engineer will represent S1’s Enterprise Managed Hosting Services organization by deploying/maintaining JAVA based enterprise financial software solutions, proactively managing and troubleshooting system applications on S1’s hosted infrastructure. This role works proactively with Infrastructure Services, Professional Services (PSO), Client Services and Customer Support to ensure that system availability is being met per standard and specific customer Service Level
Agreements.
Job duties will be performed on site and remote access will be provided to perform after hours/on call support.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Plan, architect, and build robust java based financial application infrastructure
Ensure reliable and consistent configurations within each environment, including both internally and externally facing systems
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to determine how to automate processing or improve existing processes
Create, maintain and track documents in detail of all systems configurations and applications versions
Create, maintain and track software patches and upgrades, scheduling necessary maintenance to resolve issues found within the application infrastructure utilizing change control process and procedures
Assist Professional Services with items related to project specifications and/or application deployment/configuration
Ensure systems issues are resolved timely, minimizing downtime, and to the customer’s satisfaction
Open problem tickets with third-party vendors as necessary
Follow S1’s change control process, ensuring quality and repeatable success
Proactively monitor and review application server performance
Must be able to lead small project teams

Education and Experience:
Education:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related discipline OR equivalent work experience

Skills and Experience:
Requires a minimum of 5 years supporting medium to large scale production web environments running complex Java-based applications. 3 years working as a ‘lead’ engineer is highly preferred.
At least 5 years hands on AIX/WebSphere experience
Hands-on experience with DB2, J2EE, JAVA and/or object-oriented
developed applications
Familiarity with IBM IHS, Apache configurations
Strong scripting ability, .ksh, .jacl
Familiarity with IBM MQ
Solid understanding of systems security, SSL configurations, and certificate management
Strong ability to document standards, methods and produce drawings of systems and applications
Working knowledge of LAN/WAN design and operation
Familiar with Windows systems a plus
Participation in a 24x7x365 rotational on-call coverage
