Senior Commerical Bond Underwriter

Great American's Specialty Group offers a wide variety of specialized property and casualty commercial insurance coverages and services.

The Bond Division writes a wide range of surety and fidelity products including standard contract surety, fidelity and crime insurance, commercial surety and miscellaneous non-contract surety and fidelity.

We currently have an opening for a Senior Commercial Surety Underwriter in Edmonds, WA. This position will conduct the underwriting for all Commercial Account and Transactional business for the division. This position reports to the Bond Director.

This individual will be responsible for underwriting and producing profitable Bond business within an assigned territory. Daily tasks include underwriting within scope of authority, risk acceptance, improvement, delineation, and cancellation of all fidelity and surety lines. Other duties will include investigating new and existing surety accounts through banks, owners, creditors, debtors, architects, and engineers.

· Five years of underwriting experience with a concentration in the surety area.
· Through knowledge of underwriting standards for all classes of bond business and coverage’s provided.
· Bachelor Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent job experience.
· Advanced knowledge of finance and economic principals.
· Knowledge of accounting and credit.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.
