Senior Developer - Oracle, Unix, Java a plus, Equities

Large Asset Manager is looking to hire a Senior Programmer Analyst to join their Equity Asset Management IT area. The majority of the IT team is located in NYC, so this individual will be the only IT person supporting a group of Portfolio Managers located in the San Francisco location. This person will handle all of their IT needs whether it be tactical solutions (short-term), custom applications or integration work with vendor products. This person will be expected to become a resident expert in the internal systems as well as the business of equity portfolio management. Will consider candidates with a wide range of experience. This person must be able to communicate with end-users, design & build systems with little help from others. Also, must be able to communicate effectively with the IT team and management located in NYC.

Requirements:

* Strong Unix scripting skills.
* Strong SQL (Oracle preferred).
* Java programming skills a big plus.
* Financial Services experience preferred; Equity experience a big plus.
* Must have strong business analysis skills.
* Must have excellent verbal & interpersonal skills.
* Should be able to handle high-pressure situations.
* Cannot sponsor H1Bs.
