Senior Finance and Operations Professional (New York)

The D. E. Shaw group seeks a senior accounting and operations professional to manage the firm’s financial and operations staff, which supports a sophisticated and rapidly growing suite of trading strategies in markets around the world.

The position requires regular interaction with senior management, portfolio managers, and proprietary trading professionals, and involves a wide array of responsibilities primarily centered on daily (e.g.  trade settlement, swap resets, corporate actions) and monthly (e.g., preparation of portfolio balance sheets and income statements, profit-and-loss reconciliation and analysis, security price testing) accounting and operational duties.  10+ years of relevant product accounting or financial service experience and strong knowledge of financial instruments, including equities, bonds, options, swaps, and other derivative products are required.  Previous management experience is required, as are strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.  The firm offers full benefits, a casual, collegial working environment, and an attractive compensation package.
