Your success story starts here.A Senior Loan Consultant in Commercial Mortgage Lending is responsible for business development and direct sales to potential borrowers seeking commercial real estate loans. The incumbent will specifically focus on the following property types: retail, industrial, mixed-use and office buildings. The consultant will have extensive knowledge of local commercial real estate market, and will have contacts with local realtors, brokers, professional builders, developers, and other professional entities regarding prospective customers seeking commercial real estate loans. Responsibilities include business development, interviewing borrowers to assess their needs, and to determine whether the loans will be an acceptable risk. The consultant will arrange for the appraisal of properties, complete due diligence by gathering required financial and property information, prepare cashflow analyses and loan summaries, and provide complete loan packages for review to the Division Executive, Regional Manager or Credit Review Underwriter while keeping the borrower informed of loan status throughout the process. In addition, the consultant maintains awareness of all loan programs offered by Washington Mutual while developing and implementing strategies for obtaining and retaining business relationships to increase production levels. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related field or equivalent work experience is preferred 4+ years Business development and/or sales experience in a commercial real estate lending environment is preferred 4+ years Experience working with local realtors, brokers, professional builders, and developers is required Experience structuring commercial real estate loans is required Strong knowledge of regulations and laws relating to commercial real estate development and lending activities Proficient knowledge of standard office equipment, PC skills, and Microsoft Products including Word & Excel Strong analytical skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Outstanding customer service skills Washington Mutual is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
