Senior Mortgage Underwriting Manager

Acopia Capital Group is seeking a unique and talented individual to manage the government underwriting department for a new wholesale mortgage lender. This person must have the knowledge and experience of the complete menu of mortgage products including government and agency product. This person must also have the people skills to manage a team of underwriters as well as the customer relations to handle the mortgage broker. Job Purpose:

Protects mortgage investments by evaluating loan risk; rejecting and ranking risk.



Duties:

* Evaluates loan risk by verifying loan application information; verifying application information against loan criteria guidelines and standards.



* Clarifies risk by requesting additional information.



* Rejects loans by identifying and documenting deficiencies; returning application to loan officer.



* Ranks risk by estimating degree of risk; noting any additional requirements; forwarding to loan committee.



* Provides information by answering questions; responding to requests.



* Maintains customer confidence by keeping application information confidential.



* Provides loan control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.



* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.



* Accomplishes organization mission by completing related results as needed.
