Job Description Senior Oracle Database Engineer We are looking for a Senior Oracle Database Engineer on behalf of our client, Fidelity Investments.  This position is based in Boston, MA.  (245 Summer Street). This is a 6 month contract role with a strong chance of extension.  SummaryOur database developer will create innovative physical database designs and structures.  A successful database developer has a combination of technical skills, communication skills and business knowledge.  The developer will be able to take oral and written business requirements and develop efficient code to meet deliverables.  Responsibilities Participate in the development, enhancement and maintenance of database applications both as an individual contributor and as a team member Create SQL database packages and procedures Write database triggers and reports Performs functional analysis for major projects supporting several corporate initiatives Acts as an expert technical resource across functional organizations and monitors performance of project plans Works directly with the user community for project definition Designs applications on major projects. Works on multiple platforms and multiple projects Drives data or database design for projects working with DBA Team Performs independent technical analysis on complex projects. Project vision translated from the abstract to the concrete Performs code and unit testing for complex scope modules, and projects Works on multiple projects concurrently Develops on multiple platforms Acts as a technical resource for others Five to eight years of experience in database development (primary focus is Oracle) Expert level PL/SQL programming skills Experience in two or more of the following areas - UNIX Shell Scripting, Perl, Autosys (or similar job scheduling), stored procedures, Informatica ETL. Comprehensive experience with database systems and related software Ability to read and interpret physical data models Solid knowledge of DBMS optimizer Ability to translate requirement documents into DBMS language Experience with regression testing and stored procedure development Good communications skills in addition to being a team player Experience working with off-shore environments and Financial Services will be a plus.  Veritude is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and supports a diversified environment.
