Senior Risk Officer
Position Overview:This position is part of Balance Sheet Risk Management. This group combines traditional responsibilities for market and credit portfolio risk management. The group’s mandate extends beyond the traditional risk framework, optimizing all balance sheet management activities and enhancing the firm’s focus on risk topics associated with capital, liquidity, liabilities and returns. Personnel participate and provide leadership in:§ Establishing the balance sheet risk management framework and methodologies§ Partnering with the businesses to facilitate the execution of balance sheet risk management objectives§ Capturing and analyzing internal and external balance sheet risk management data§ Developing both line of business and enterprise balance sheet risk management profiles and reporting to management§ Developing and maintaining the enterprise balance sheet risk policy Essential Functions:§ Prepare independent, complex quantitative analysis and modeling used in monitoring PNC’s Balance Sheet. Scrutinize the effect of certain credits or trading positions on the overall portfolio. These activities include analyzing financial data and research reports, assessing industry trends and understanding the balance between risk and return. § Logically evaluate all findings and present management with clear alternatives on any actions to consider or take. § Recommend and execute strategies to manage or hedge credit risk, increase revenues or reduce volatility of credit losses per PNC’s strategic plan and risk tolerances§ Coordinate the assessment and management of internal processes, controls and other operating risks to satisfy regulatory, legislative and Bank requirements§ Actively participate in projects to further the objectives of the Balance Sheet Risk Management Group and the Risk Management structure as a whole§ Partner with business executive and their units to assist/facilitate the execution of balance sheet risk management objectives§ Interface with regulatory agencies for examinations and to demonstrate program components§ Partner with Strategic Analytics to support risk based balance sheet risk management economic capital calculations & allocations§ Partner with other enterprise wide risk areas (Credit, Operating Risk, Compliance, Fiduciary/Investment, etc.) to ensure alignment of methodologies and approaches for assessing, monitoring and reporting balance sheet risk Education:MBA, BS, or MS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics or related fields preferred. Skills & Abilities: § 5-7 years experience in lending or credit activities required, as are highly advanced credit analysis skills. Thorough knowledge of commercial lending practices, credit administration procedures, risk assessment, loan structures, regulations and non-credit products. Formal credit training at a large financial institution preferred § Detailed knowledge of spreadsheet modeling, databases and information systems is requisite§ Proficient analytical, problem solving and verbal and written communications skills, Interpersonal and planning skills, enabling communication across all levels of the organization§ Project management skills that foster collaborative interaction with other risk management areas as well as auditors and examiners Interested individuals please submit your resume by selecting the "Apply Now" button.
