Small Business Underwriter

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reviews and decisions small business credit application within assigned authority. Recommends decisions and obtains concurrence for loans outside of authority level. Gathers and analyzes financial and other information to support structuring and approval of loans. Documents justification for decision. Analyzes collateral. Performs calculations and required analyses. Recommends structure of loan request and approves or denies loan within credit limit authority. Ensures compliance with appropriate company and or secondary market investor standards. Prepares loan package for closing. Proactively increases consumer loan sales by recommending up sale and cross sell opportunities to all business partners and customers. Decision modifications. Has knowledge of subordination process. Support team and division goals. Recommends new loan policy and policy changes. Provides quality customer service. Obtain training for personal professional development. May provide on the job training to new employees and internal customers, as applicable. Assist Team Leader to develop work plan for team to complete loan approvals within acceptable time frames. Assist Team Leader in directing and managing execution of work plan. Ensures process meets service level agreements. Coaches less experienced lenders. Decisions and structures the more complex credits. Mentors decisioners and ensures adherence to policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines. Reviews legal documents. REQUIREMENTS: 5 plus years lending experience small business lending. Excellent customer relationship skills. Excellent credit skills. Strong organizational skills. Thorough knowledge of loan structuring, products, legal issues. Strong coaching and team building skills. Strong problem solving skills. Strong negotiation skills.
