We currently have an opening for a Software Developer

The Software Developer provides design, development and maintenance of applications and reports according to established industry and company standards and procedures; including definition of objectives, scope, and specification of requirements, system design, coding, testing, documentation, training, and installation.

Position Responsibilities:

1. Works with Business Analysts, development team members, and users to review the business requirements and prepare technical design documents

2. Documents extended use cases, class diagrams, collaborations diagrams, sequence diagrams, and construction of non-functional and functional prototypes

3. Constructs, tests, and implements software that meets the business requirements and technical design specifications

4. Works with Business Analysts, Quality Analysts, and other Information Technology (IT) staff to analyze and resolve defects

5. Participates in regular code reviews

6. Prepares or assists in the preparation of implementation documentation

7. Works with Systems Administration and Operations personnel in the implementation of applications

8. Works with Business Analysts, help desk personnel, and other IT professionals to identify and resolve issues reported in the production environment

9. Performs related duties as assigned or requested

Candidates must have the following qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related discipline

2. 2-4 years experience in systems analysis and software development

3. 2+ years experience with SQL Server 2000 (or higher) development and administration

4. 2+ years experience with .net development

5. Proficiency with Microsoft VisualStudio and related development tools

6. Experience with structured, object oriented design, and coding

7. Prior experience gathering user requirements through use case definition and object oriented analysis and design techniques

8. Strong customer orientation

9. Must be detailed- oriented

10. Ability to organize and mange multiple priorities/task simultaneously

11. Excellent technical writing, and editing skills

12. Excellent oral and written communication skills

13. Advanced computer proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Additional qualifications preferred but not required:

1. Experience with project scheduling and management using Microsoft Project is a plus

2. Experience with HTML, XML and browser based systems using Microsoft and JAVA based technologies is preferred

3. Knowledge of version control software (i.e. Visual SourceSafe, PVCS, etc is preferred

4. Microsoft related certifications (e.g. MCSD, MCDBA, etc) are preferred
