Software Engineer - .Net Developer (ASP.Net, C#, SQL)

Georgia Central currently has an opening for a talented software engineer. The primary role of the software engineer is to design, develop, enhance and maintain current and new applications and web services. The software engineer will be called upon to recommend solutions to streamline internal operational functions based on requirements from business users. This individual will also be called upon to participate, to varying extents, in all aspects of a project, including systems and process analysis and design as well as application development and support.

 

Working on Georgia Central’s applications, including our eCommerce sites, you will work with technologies and tools including .NET 3.0/3.5, SQL reporting services, C# and SharePoint.

 

Essential Functions:   Participation in full software development lifecycle. Investigate and analyze application issues in a timely manner, and recommend solutions to these problems including code changes, data updates, or configuration modifications.  Ability to design and develop software in a group or independently. Assist in technical design and development reviews. Conduct and assist in integration testing. Develop enhancements, according to business specifications, to pre-existing applications.

 

Qualifications: 

    At least 2 years of software development experience (non-academic) with demonstrable experience and fundamental understanding of the.NET Framework including C#, ASP.NET, XML, web services, data structures and collections, etc. Good fundamental and hands-on knowledge of MS SQL Server and SQL Reporting Services. Web-based development experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English  Experience with working in a multi-team environment is a plus  Should be comfortable with direct communication with all levels of technical and business resources Good analytical skills, understanding of project life cycles.
