 Job Title:     Financial Consultant

Description of Position:

 

Meets with clients and potential clients to determine investment needs.  Performs asset gathering, needs analysis and financial planning for the sale of non-bank investment products and services.  Provides overall portfolio management  and advice with regard to non-bank investment products by evaluating the client’s current financial situation, assessing their needs and making recommendations for appropriate investment products and strategies.  Develops and maintains referral network with bank employees and outside sources.  Monitors portfolios and reviews with clients to ensure that investment goals are being met.  Keeps informed of market trends and all financial developments that could affect clients’ investments.  Works with vendors to develop direct mail literature as well as enhance the referral program.  Determines customer needs and strives to meet or exceed their expectations.  Works with supervisor to plan performance goals and strategies for achieving them based upon the accountabilities listed within this position description; updating description as needed. 

 

 

Qualifications:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Business is preferred.  Series 7, Series 63 and Michigan Life, Health & Variable Contracts license required.  In addition, Series 65 or 66 preferred.  Excellent communication skills.  Proven leadership, business development and problem resolution abilities. Successful sales record and three years of experience selling investment products. Advanced studies in Financial Planning a plus (i.e. CFP).  Qualified candidates must have proven success in the following areas; demonstrating results, exceeding client expectations, adaptability, team player and strong relationship builder, reliability and highly motivated.
