Sr. Commodity Manager

SunTrust Bank has a current opportunity for a Senior Commodity Manager. This position is located in Atlanta, Georgia. The Senior Commodity Manager is responsible for leading the strategic sourcing activities for the most complex categories and/or commodity clusters.  Complexity is defined as follows: 1) the amount of associated commodity spend, 2) the technical and/or market complexity of the category, and 3) the strategic importance of the commodity and/or supply base to the overall business.  This position requires gaining a clear and concise understanding of corporate wide requirements, crafting and recommending optimal commodity sourcing strategies, working closely with external suppliers/partners, leading contract negotiations and implementing commodity sourcing strategies throughout the business. Each SCM will have annual goals for the spend they manage, including total cost of ownership reduction targets, supplier management metrics, and customer service metrics to gauge how well they are driving value for the company and satisfying the needs of their internal customers. They will interact with the senior leadership of multiple internal business units at the executive level.We are seeking candidates with a bachelor's degree and at least seven (7) years experience in Strategic Sourcing and/or Commodity Management. Experience in roles which included significant financial management responsibilities in managing large spend and complex commodities.  Ability to formulate contractual agreements.  Ability to successfully apply organizational change management principles to change efforts (both large and small).
