Sr. Oracle Database Administrator Houston, TX JOB DESCRIPTION Sr. Oracle Database Administrator Responsible for maintaining Oracle databases and required subsystems including assist installing new database applications, upgrading RDBMS software, ongoing systems technical support, and ensuring the integrity of the environment. Participate in all major applications development projects to maintain the integrity of the systems architecture. . Requirements 4+ years Oracle DBA experience Experience with Oracle 9i and 10g Must have experience managing very large database environments (VLDB). Emphasis on Unix (Solaris) and Oracle performance tuning techniques Demonstrated proficiency of troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis. Ability to analyze and resolve data issues. Experience in high-volume database systems. Experience in deploying database changes for new releases with minimal downtime. Knowledge of Unix (Solaris) Operating system administration. BS in Computer Science or related area of study. Significant professional experience will be considered in place of degree. Experience with Oracle Applications 11i is a plus.
