Staff Accountant

Unifund, established in 1986, is a buyer and manager of large portfolios of defaulted consumer obligations including credit cards. Unifund is well recognized for its innovation and industry leadership.  We are currently seeking an Accountant to work in our Accounting and Finance Department.  This is a professional, entry level position.  This position is responsible for posting journal entries, updates to entries, month end closing, account analysis and special projects as assigned.  The ideal candidate must have a basic knowledge of accounting and at least one year of experience or have completed a co-op program.  Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.



Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- 1+ years of experience in accounting, general knowledge of accounting
- Organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Advanced excel skills
- Knowledge of accounting software
- Ability to work independently
