Staff Auditor

Junior auditors, as assigned, must conduct independent audits and communicate pertinent findings of audits performed for all elements of the corpo¬ration. The work involves examining accounting and financial records as well as appraising internal controls and operational and administrative functions for efficiency and effectiveness Assignments at this level, particularly during the first year, are performed under the direct supervision of the senior auditor. The incumbents are expected to be able to carry out applicable audit procedures for any segment of an audit to which they are assigned, with a minimum of supervision. They must be able to go beyond the mechanical steps of audit programs; demonstrate an ability to interpret the results of audit work performed; determine internal control weaknesses; and make recommendations for cost-justified improvements in opera¬tions. All work performed for each audit procedure must be properly documented and concluded in writing. As junior auditors gain experience, they are expected to receive less direct supervision and, in fact, perform entire (though less complex) audits on their own. They are also expected to participate in the training and/or supervision of less experienced juniorsRequirements: Persons considered for this position must have a minimum educational background equivalent to a B S. degree in accounting or finance from a recognized university. Good written/oral communication skills, as well as good analytical skills. Travel required up to 40%.
