Tech Lead Apps Development and Support

Technical Lead-Application Data Design & Development Support. This position is responsible for the technical oversight, advisement, and quality control of assigned Operational Data Store (ODS) and Application Development projects. Along with technical proficiency in very large relational database environments, knowledge of Oracle and related architectures, concepts and processes is required. Detailed knowledge of Extract Transform and Load (ETL) procedures, technologies and techniques is also prerequisite. Technical leads typically develop technical approaches and ensure that proper ODS guidelines and standards are followed on assigned projects. Technical leads can also be responsible for leading projects and managing the assigned resources within the context of the assigned project. To that end, Project leadership, planning and organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment complete the requirements for success in this demanding position. Typical tasks and duties: - Participate in weekly code review, architecture and planning meetings. - Designing and developing approaches to satisfy project deliverables on assigned projects. Presenting these approaches to the Wachovia Securities (WSI) architecture review. - Provide accountability, along with project manager (if assigned), for meeting deadlines and deliverables related to assigned projects. - Provide weekly status reporting to the ODS Manager and partner with other Development, Technology and Environment/Support teams to ensure quality implementations and the rollout of standardized and supportable code. - Provide support, as necessary, to ODS Environment and Support teams. - Performing requisite code reviews for assigned projects. - Mentoring, training and teaching developers on proper ODS ETL techniques, standards and guidelines. - Creating PICCTS (Change Control Requests) as required by assigned projects and ensuring end to end quality of assigned projects. REQUIREMENTS: Required Skills and Experience: - Excellent Leadership, Verbal & Written Communication Skills - Team Development skills - 4 year college degree or equivalency required - 7+ years in Data design and development experience OLTP, Data warehouse or other VLRDB architecture and design experience - Relational database design and development (DB2 UDB, Oracle) - Batch systems scheduling and processing - Work hours Mon - Fri, 8:00am - 5:00pm Preferred Skills and Experience include Brokerage and/or Financial Services Industry Knowledge and or Consulting experience in Fortune 500 companies.
