Test Analyst II – System

 

 

Skills Sought:

 

· Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.

· Minimum 3 years experience with software testing in multiple environments.

· Experience developing and executing test cases and test scripts for non-functional

    tests (performance, stress, failures/recovery, etc) from use cases, requirements

  specifications and/or architectural models.

· Hands-on test execution and troubleshooting experience.

· Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.  Good troubleshooting skills.

  Strong attention to detail required.

· Knowledge of common software failures and faults.

· Experience with defect management (reporting, root-cause analysis and implementation

of corrective actions).

· Demonstrated understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance; Experience in a

variety of testing techniques.

· Experience and success with the use of test automation tools.

· Experience administering Windows workstation and server operating systems.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Networks and Active Directory.

· Experience working with requirements tools desired.

· In-depth knowledge of the system or application-under-test desired.

· Experience with complex products desired.

· Good time management skills.  Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects

  concurrently.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).

· Knowledge of Symantec Ghost, DCOM, MDAC & DTC desired.

· Experience with administering and maintaining SQL Server 2000 and preferably SQL

Server 2005.

· Microsoft Terminal Server and Citrix Presentation Server experience desired.

· Test environment creation and maintenance.

· Utilization of metrics for decision support desired.

· Basic XML knowledge preferred.

 

 

 

Responsibilities of position:

 

· Define test targets as per recommended strategy.

· Develop test cases per project/product based on the strategy and defined requirements.

· Monitor the requirements/product changes, update test cases and test scripts according to the approved changes.

· Verify requirements/tests traceability and coverage, update test cases and test scripts based on results of their execution.

· Continuous improvement in the development, efficiency and structure of test cases, test scripts and their execution.

· Periodic assessment/evaluation of Change Requests/defects and their impact.

· Develop, gather and manage test data.

· Evaluate the outcome for each test cycle.

· Works with Automation Designers to implement automation coverage of test scripts where applicable.

· Set up and execute test scripts. Troubleshoot product issues relating to environmental and/or configuration changes, assist Support in resolving customer issues relating to environmental issues (i.e. Operating System, network).  Manage various test environments test images and testing labs.  Administer and support Windows servers.

· Recover, analyze, record and report the test execution results, ensure that critical priority bugs are properly escalated.  Communicate status of the test activities for the project to project team and your

  Resource Manager.

· Maintain audit compliance throughout the product cycle. 

· Maintain team documentation (i.e. processes and procedures).

· Continually seek to improve internal team efficiencies through tools and process enhancements.
