The Challenge

If you’re searching for an exciting opportunity in which to launch your career as an IT professional, then this could be the break you’ve been looking for!  We are currently searching for a Programmer to enhance and maintain system components of the SegPay billing platform.  In addition, this position will interface with many members of the SegPay staff to build out internal tools to make the company more efficient and successful.

You must be dedicated, hard-working and a team player, able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.  The position will rely on your enthusiasm and willingness to take the initiative, aptitude at grasping the concepts of e-commerce transactions, capacity to work independently with minimal direction, and ability to build a friendly rapport with others.  Success of the prospective candidate will be predicated upon their own self-motivation, ability to climb the learning curve rapidly, and desire to deliver outstanding work product.  This position will report directly to the Chief Technical Officer.

ResponsibilitiesEnhance applications of the SegPay billing platformDevelop additional software tools used for internal reporting.

 

Required Qualifications

a. VB.Net 2005 – Intermediate to advanced level.

 

1) Object Oriented Programming (OOP) – Understands inheritance, encapsulation, abstraction, polymorphism and overloading.

2) Windows Applications (EXEs) – Understands how to create, debug and deploy Windows applications.

3) XML - Parsing, node(s) selection, attributes, loading, validating, etc.

 

b.  ASP.Net with VB.Net – Intermediate to advanced level.

 

1) ASP.Net Applications – Understands now to write, debug and deploy ASP.Net applications using VB.Net as code behind.

2) HTML and JavaScript – Intimate knowledge of both HTML and JavaScript. Capable of writing and understanding HTML and JavaScript that is browser independent.

 

c. Microsoft SQL Server 2005 – Intermediate to advanced level.

 

1) T-SQL –Knowledge of SQL necessary for table joins, index optimization and SQL query optimization.

2) Stored procedures – Understands and codes stored procedures.

3) Triggers – Understands and can handle triggers.

4) Aggregate functions – Understands and knows how to properly use aggregate functions in SQL.
