JOB TITLE: Branch  Manager

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  Develop marketing plans to solicit deposit and loan business for the branch through cross-selling to existing customers, calling on prospective customers and participating in community functions to promote UCB's image.Train branch staff in marketing techniques to sell and promote UCB products to ensure meeting sales goals established for the branch.Design and implement process/procedures to ensure customer service quality meets or exceeds standards established by senior management.Ensure all customer inquiries and problems are handled in an efficient and expedient manner.Provide ongoing leadership, motivation and feedback on performance evaluations to direct reports.Interview loan applicants, review and follow-up on status of underwriting and processing of loan file to ensure accuracy of and timely funding.Oversee daily branch operations to ensure compliance to federal regulations and the Bank's policies and procedures.When required, approve over limit transactions, new accounts and monthly certifications.Review management reports and selected computer reports for accuracy and completeness.Monitor staffing needs on a regular basis which includes interviewing and hiring of new personnel when required.  Coordinate with Branch Operations and Support Department, Division Head and Human Resources on all staffing issues to achieve a balance among customer service, operational control and profitability.Attend manager’s meetings to keep apprised of issues, concerns and loan production/products.  Conduct weekly staff meetings with branch personnel to ensure dissemination of information and ongoing team work.Review and approve on a monthly basis all branch transaction expenses and fee income by maintaining proper controls over fee waivers, personnel and other expenses.  Measure branch performance to established business plan.Conduct semi-annual performance reviews for all branch personnel and establish objectives for the next review cycle.Annually develop branch budget and establish a business plan in accordance with goals and objectives set by Retail Banking senior management.Ensure at the close of each business day that the branch is secured.Perform account records changes on the ISC terminal requiring level 3 security.Perform various tasks assigned related to branch consolidation, acquisition, conversion promotional rallies, system conversion.Communicate in writing all procedural and regulation changes to branches via BOC Bulletin.

 

   

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

Minimum 7 years banking experience to include 3 years branch management in a commercial bank, 3 years branch operations and 1 year lending; lending experience must include commercial real estate, commercial business loans/lines of credit, SBA, apartment and 1-4 mortgage loans. Thorough knowledge of federal/state and IRS regulations. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment. Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills; college degree in business or finance preferred.  Bilingual skills in English/ Mandarin and Cantonese are required.
