infectious diseases by creating novel, highly potent vaccines that are safer and more effective

than current preventive options.

 

Novavax’s Rockville, Maryland facility is a state-of-the-art biopharmaceutical pilot manufacturing

facility located in the Washington, D.C. area. The Engineering group is seeking a summer intern student from an undergraduate chemical engineering or bioengineering program for the Summer of 2008.

 

 

 

The candidate may work on one or two projects related to, but not restricted to:

 

  • Performing Engineering studies on Cell Culture Processes and Purification.

   

  • Mass transfer studies.

   

  • Mapping our cell culture manufacturing and purification processes.

   

  • He/she would report to one of the engineers within the group but may interface

  substantially with other members from the group and with other departments, such as the

  BioProcess Development Department and/or the Manufacturing Department.

   

  • This internship would be an excellent means of gaining exposure to disposable cell culture manufacturing processes related to vaccines.

   

  • The candidate should be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and have an interest in biopharmaceutical engineering or process development.
