ADD IT Finance Development Team Leader

Incumbent will be responsible for providing technical expertise, ensuring adherence to code design and development process standards, documentation, test, and promotion controls. The Development Team Lead will work with the IT Finance project management team on project staffing requirements and ensure project requirements are consistent with development standards. This position will be responsible for the technical staff assignments and associated development budgets. The Team Lead will be responsible for ensuring best practices are followed and development standards adhere to quality standards The Team Lead will be responsible to work across the enterprise to ensure support and operations maintain high system availability. The Team Lead will also be responsible to identify opportunities for improving supportability, and to ensure premium system performance and infrastructure for all future systems development and implementations.Major Responsibilities: Responsible for data analysis, data modeling, data quality standards, development and implementation of Business initiatives. Assign development resources to projects, coordinate changing priorities, and organize development projects. Develop proposals, facilitate understanding of project definitions and deliverables, meet development standards, conduct design reviews, and implement test standards and support. Use tools to effectively to provide estimates, manage project timelines, resources, and communicate development status. Adhere to quality and SLA standards. Provide technical support and work with Business Analytics team to ensure high availability and infrastructure standards. Coach team members and conduct performance evaluations. Assist in preparation of development and training plans. Communicate on timely basis with project team members and clients. Educate team on advances in technology and best practices, evaluate and select new technical solutions or practices as appropriate. Work effectively with team to accomplish organizational goals. Synthesize information on integration of hardware and software to design solutions. Communicate effectively across multiple organizations and divisions. Problem Solving The incumbent requires the ability to independently conceive and develop approaches to the solution of diverse, complex problems which require the use of advanced technical knowledge. Often operating in situations where few precedents exist, the incumbent frequently requires the use of ingenuity and creative thinking. This individual performs identification, analysis, and recommendation of alternatives with regard to time, financial, technological, regulatory, and business constraints. In addition to technical problem solving, the incumbent must balance the requests for services with the skills and availability of the members of their development team in order to maximize client responsiveness and effectiveness.QualificationsExperience as programmer, programmer/analyst, database administrator, development environment- supporting finance applications, IBM AS/400, OS/400 Operating System, Windows PCsProgramming Languages/Technologies, ILE RPG (IBM Certified AS/400 RPG IV Developer), CL, Microsoft Visual Basic, SQL with DB2, SQL Server, FTP, CGI, Crystal Reports, Showcase Essbase OLAP, Erwin (Basic knowledge) and Implementer change control software. 7-10 years.Supervisory experience 1 3 yearsAbbott experience 3-5Experience in pharmaceutical/medical diagnostics industry preferred B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related.
