- This position will report into Fullerton Manufacturing and provide equipment set-up and preventive maintenance support for reagent manufacturing.

- The incumbent sets up, troubleshoots, services and performs preventative maintenance work on various process machines and equipment used to formulate, filter, fill, cap, label and kit reagent products.

- The incumbent collects data and generates reports related to the preventative maintenance program.

- Duties will include data entry, upkeep and refinement of the department’s preventative maintenance database.

- The incumbent will have training, practical experience and a mechanical aptitude to work with complex reagent manufacturing equipment and systems.

- The incumbent needs to understand and interpret process equipment schematics, drawings, manuals and specifications, plus have the ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with production personnel and outside service providers.

 

Responsibilities:

• The incumbent plans and prioritizes daily and weekly work assignments, participates on CPI teams and collaborates with other technical functional groups inside or outside of Fullerton Reagents Manufacturing.

• On occasion the incumbent makes technical presentations to communicate status of work activities, or introduce new project opportunities.

• The incumbent inputs and maintains data in the department’s preventative maintenance database. This activity includes generating preventative maintenance work orders and recording work results into the system.

• In the production labs the incumbent will set-up and teardown process equipment as needed to support reagent manufacturing operations.

• When necessary the incumbent will work with facility engineers and outside service providers to see that work orders and process equipment projects are completed on time and within budget.

• The incumbent demonstrates self-starting individual leadership qualities; expanding knowledge base on self initiative.

 

Qualifications:

• Training and experience in setting up and maintaining complex reagent manufacturing process equipment and systems.

• Candidates need to have a high school diploma with advanced training in machine repair and maintenance. Preference will be given to candidates with a college degree.

• Candidates should have a minimum of five years professional experience in machine repair and maintenance with preference given to individuals with relevant experience in a pharmaceutical, specialty chemical or in-vitro diagnostic manufacturing company.

• Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to systematically gather relevant information and consider a broad range of issues or factors when making decisions or recommendations.

• Candidates need to have excellent PC skills and are proficient using Microsoft applications including Word, Excel or Access.

• Candidates need to have good verbal and written communication skills and have the ability work independently or within manufacturing teams.
