Advanced Sterilization Products (ASP) Division of Ethicon, Inc. is a leading innovator of technologies in the areas of sterilization, high-level disinfection, cleaning of medical devices, and hand hygiene. ASP markets STERRAD Systems, the CIDEX Family of Products, and PREVACARE Antimicrobial Hand Gel. The company is focused on hospitals and surgery centers. The Supplier Manager position is an exciting opportunity for a recent MBA graduate looking for employment in a corporate environment. ASP and Johnson & Johnson provides a small-company environment with a big-company impact. ASP is looking for this position to start immediately. The Supplier Manager position is centered within the Operations organization. The Supplier Manager position will provide leadership, administration, and coordination of all activities involving the procurement of goods and/or services to support ASP. The Supplier Manager will maintain procurement expertise in Materials, Services and/or Outsourcing Finished Goods. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. They will be responsible for supplier selection, management of competitive bid strategies, negotiations and supplier performance management. Ongoing support of base business and customer support including sustaining engineering, quality and cost improvement project management. The Supplier Manager will ensure goal/project alignment with manufacturing, planning and distribution, Marketing, New Business Development and New Product Development. Primary objectives include achieving benchmark levels in quality, minimize cost, delivery and maximize service levels, spare parts customers and customer sales. Other duties may be assigned. We are looking for a candidate with a graduation date of May 2007 through August 2008, from an accredited MBA program at a university or college with a 3.0 GPA or better. Supply Management, Logistics or Procurement concentration is strongly preferred. The candidate should have a minimum of two years of experience in Supply Management, Procurement or Operations. The candidate needs to have knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures. Procurement experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical field is an asset. APICS certification and project management skills are highly desirable. Contract law and negotiations experience is preferred. Global sourcing, Process Excellence training/certification and e-sourcing experience are desirable. The candidate needs excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate should have business partnering skills and the ability to work independently or in a team setting. The candidate should be able to demonstrate the ability for problem solving, influencing, negotiation and leadership. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment, conduct management presentations and to identify, analyze, resolve and control issues is essential. The candidate should be a motivated individual with high energy and a strong desire to learn about ASP and Johnson & Johnson. US Citizenship or Permanent Residents Work Authorization required. The candidate needs essential knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. A working knowledge of MRP, Ariba, and Dataflo applications is a plus.
