Accounts Payable Specialist

AGA Medical Corporation, a medical technology company, is dedicated to the development, design, manufacture, and marketing of nitinol-based occlusion devices and accessories for the minimally invasive treatment of cardiovascular defects and peripheral vascular disease.As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will work within the accounting and finance department with primary responsibility for accounts payable. Match vendor invoices to purchase orders and packing slips. Code and enter vendor invoices to correct general ledger accounts. Resolve discrepancies between purchase orders, receipts, and invoices. Match vendor invoices to weekly disbursement checks. Validate employee expense reports including matching of receipts. Accurate and timely filing of accounts payable and accounts receivable records. Validate data enter to system reports. Respond to vendor and employee inquiries. Handle department mail including sorting, date-stamping and distribution of incoming mail and proper handling of outgoing mail. Invoice domestic and international customer orders on a daily basis. Mail monthly domestic and international customer statements. Assist in issuance of credits to domestic and international customers. Access on-line bank information, including printing of daily reports, validation of customer check information, and inputting of bank transactions. Input journal entries into general ledger. Prepare and edit ad hoc spreadsheets. Qualifications: Associates Degree (Accounting/Finance/Business field desired). Five plus years experience in Accounts Payable in a corporate environment. Computer proficiency required: Word, Excel, internet, email. Fourth Shift preferred. Ability to work independently as well as take direction from others.
