Accounts Receivable Analyst

SUMMARY Supports Accounts Receivable (A/R) function of Accounting Department, by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Posts credits from cash, credit card, or financial aid payments to customer accounts. Compiles, posts, and maintains records of financial transactions under the direct supervision of the Manager, Accounts Receivable and Collections. Receives, reconciles, and prepares daily cash deposits. Receives, batches, and enters invoices, enrollments, credit memos, cancellations, refunds and adjustments into PeopleSoft. Maintains account records of billing, collections, and refunds as required. Performs daily reconciliations of cash deposits to posted activity. Responds to customer requests for account information; mails copies of invoices and statements, as requested. Performs monthly reconciliations such as, but not limited to, A/R detailed aging, affiliate receivable account. Performs general accounting clerk and bookkeeper duties. Files records daily, weekly, and annually. Communicates effectively, gets along with co-workers and management, and deals with others effectively and professionally under pressure. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic understanding of accounting, posting, and reconciliation processes required. Basic computer skills required. Experience with Excel software application preferred.
