Animal Research Assistant I, II, and III

Scientific Resources, an Offering of Doherty, has opportunities for research assistants I, II, and III in the Eagan area. 

These positions require different levels of experience performing the technical aspects of assigned tests in compliance with GLP, USDA, and AAALAC guidelines.  Individuals should also possess a strong animal use background.

Job Requirements (Research level depends on qualifications)BA/BS in biology, a biologically related discipline, or AALAS certification. Experience outside of the classroom. Responsibilities

The Research Assistants will perform laboratory assays that require a professional application of the principles, theories, and techniques of animal use, animal handling, animal care, toxicology, and biocompatibility.  Individuals will be responsible for:Experimental work in studies involving surgical techniques Experimental work in toxicology studies Handling of laboratory animals correctly and humanely Clear documentation of raw data on worksheets and log books in an accurate, legible, and complete fashion Animal preparation for testing, including shaving, weighing, and anesthetizing. Performs injections, patching, and wrapping or implantation of test substances, observations, or withdrawal and collection of body fluids Maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas according to ISO/GMP/GLP regulations. Completion of VA forms Preparing test articles and extracts of test articles Measuring dilution of tests reagents Understanding of proper and safe use of hazardous chemicals and pathogenic materials Daily monitoring of equipment and applicable facilities Assistance in the training of new employees
