Application Specialist - Pharmaceutical Pricing/Contract Management Software (Top $$/Direct Hire)

 Our client, a thriving pharmaceutical firm in the Raleigh area, is currently recruiting for a top-notch IT/IS professional to join its high caliber team in a key, newly-created role.  Company is undergoing substantial expansion --  particularly in the highly-regulated Managed Markets Division (Government, Managed Care, etc.) -- and is acquiring top-of-the-line software to track and manage contract/pricing information.  Seek a knowledgeable and savvy Application Specialist who can drive this multi-phase implementation.

 

Primary function will be to manage, troubleshoot, implement, customize and become the technical expert for the Government Pricing/Contract Management system.  This is considered cutting-edge software and should significantly enhance the company’s ability to manage and control pricing and contract information.  In addition to being vendor point-person for the software implementation, the purpose of this role is to ensure that the users can maximize its usage/value.  The users are knowledgeable about the data.  The Application Specialist will make them smart about the technology.

 

Ideal candidate will offer outstanding technical skills (delineated further below) complemented by astute business savvy, proactive and versatile trouble-shooting skills and demonstrated ability to successfully work with the user community.  Pharmaceutical industry experience will be important.  Further, seek a candidate who is interested in and knowledgeable about government pricing.  One who will stay informed as regulations change and understand the implications to the business and the system.  Finally, seek a natural point-person who is comfortable and confident in role as subject matter expert.

 

Requirements:

Experience with government pricing/contract management systems (such as I-Many and Model-N) within the pharmaceutical (or other similarly regulated) industry

 

Java and Oracle required; SQL, Cognos and IBM WebSphere are desirable

 

Experience with Medicaid and/or Government Pricing is strongly preferred
