The Applications Product Specialist, reporting to the Technical Product Manager- Applications, is responsible for the direct customer support of 454 Life Sciences' Genomic Sequencing platform within the Applications Complaint Handling Unit.

ResponsibilitiesTimely and accurate response to customer inquiries and complaints received from Roche first level support.Investigating and answering questions related to applications, technical problems and general complaints and inquiries. Examine 454 Sequencing data produced within the company and by external customers Diagnose the causes of sub-standard sequencing and track the types of sequencing failure This individual is responsible for elevating complaints to the Investigation Unit as required. Training sales personnel in the operations/ applications our systems. Administrative duties such as case entry into Clarify (complaint and inquiry management system), report generation and data acquisition.

Requirements:

RequirementsBS, BA or advanced degree with course work in chemistry, biochemistry, biology, engineering or a strong technical background with extensive knowledge of Molecular Biology and DNA sequencing related products and applications. Knowledge of UNIX-based bioinformatics tools. Working knowledge of On- and Off- instrument (GS20 and GSFLX) software Practical experience in a technical sales, marketing or technical support role. Must have very strong interpersonal and customer relations skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously Self-motivated; highly detailed -oriented and organized and capable of working independently with minimal supervision in a very dynamic environment. Effectively manages change, while inspiring colleagues to help meet departmental milestones.
