Position Description:

As Applications Scientist, Advanced Technology; you will play a key role in transferring Illumina’s leading-edge products to the marketplace. You will engage early in the product development cycle, gaining experience with advanced technologies as they emerge. You will then develop training programs for our customer support staff in the field. Candidates will receive competitive salaries, and extensive experience with Illumina’s cutting-edge products. Illumina is growing rapidly and offers excellent opportunities for career development.Job duties include but are not limited to:• Coordinate new product launches by transferring expertise from internal development teams to field scientists.• Represent the voice of the customer and customer support organization to interdepartmental product development teams.• Develop curricula for training sessions demonstrating new products to field scientists.• Edit and author technical documentation• Anticipate and mitigate the impact of new protocols on customer workflow.• Provide technical support to field personnel.• Develop and improve key company processes that support our mission of building a world-class customer support organization.Qualifications:Education and Experience:• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or Genetics required, or B.S. + 3 years experience, • 3 years biotech/pharma experience preferred, • Must be willing to travel up to 20%, • Prior experience with DNA sequencing technologies preferred, • Demonstrated written and verbal communication and presentation skills, • Outstanding interpersonal skills, • Clear vision of and commitment to providing outstanding customer service.
