Assistant/Associate Director - Metabolic Disease Drug Discovery Research

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for an Assistant/Associate Director position in the metabolic disease discovery group at Isis Pharmaceuticals.  A Ph.D. degree or equivalent is required in one of the life sciences, along with a minimum of 5 years of experience in metabolic disease drug discovery research in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology company setting.  In addition to designing and conducting research projects independently, the candidate will play a leadership role within the group to establish and implement new strategic initiatives.  The candidate will also be involved in interactions with corporate partners as part of ongoing discovery collaborations.  Therefore, a proven record of innovation and experience as an active bench scientist and research group leader is required.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also an essential requirement. A strong publication track record is a plus.
