This position is a highly visible position open due to a promotion.  It will interface on a regular basis with the Divisional Controller and CFO.

 

Primary Functions Include:

 Assists the Controller in all areas of the general accounting and reporting function.  Supervises and coordinates the calculation, recording and analysis of financial data for use in maintaining accounting records by performing the following duties.  Works with Divisional Controller to consolidate, analyze and summarize legal entity financial results for leadership review.Reviews financial reporting package for Alpharma Inc. legal entity.Prepares, analyzes and reviews all material balance sheet account reconciliations including reserve analysis on a monthly basis (primarily AR, Inventory, AP, and Accruals).Assists with preparation of support for quarterly and annual SOX testing and compliance.Provides detailed support schedules and analysis to auditors for quarterly annual reviews.

 

Qualifications:

 

Strong accounting and financial background

Solid knowledge of GAAP

CPA

8 to 12 years Accounting experience (prefer public / private)

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

· Assists the Controller with all aspects of Legal Entity Consolidation and preparation and analysis of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.

· Analyze legal entity financial positions and monitor transfer pricing and intercompany profit positions and issues.

· Prepare written accounting policies and procedures in support of the Divisions accounting practices.

· Ensure that accounting for marketing and sales programs are appropriate and in accordance with GAAP.

· Balance sheet account analysis as required (primarily AR, inventory, AP and accruals).
