Centocor, Inc., a member of Johnson & Johnson's Family of Companies, is recruiting an Assistant Scientist for Pilot Plant, Purification located in Spring House, PA. The purification operations include: bioreactor material harvest, column chromatography, viral clearance filtration, UF/DF, and final bulk fill. The essential functions for this position include: hands-on performance of purification processes in pilot plant responsible for producing new products for clinical trials, ensuring compliance with cGMP, ensuring timely completion of pilot plant operations consistent with new product production activities of department. The major activities are: equipment preparation; preparation and control of SOP's, batch records, and other compliance documents; participation in technical cGMP training for pilot plant personnel; participation in technical transfer activities from other groups. Additional responsibility is performance of purification development projects utilizing chromatography, tangential flow filtration, normal filtration, and other techniques. A minimum of a Bachelors degree with 0 - 4 years experience is required. A degree in a biological science/ chemical engineering/pharmaceuticals, or related field is preferred. The ability to be self-motivated, productive and have good computer, communication, and scientific problem solving skills is preferred. Microsoft Office experience is required. The ability to work as part of a team is required. GMP, column chromatography, preparation and control of SOP's, batch records, and filtration experience is preferred.
