Associate Director/Director of Biostatistics

Req Number 477 The Associate Director/Director of Biostatistics will be responsible for providing statistical support for the Vaccines therapeutic group within the Clinical organization, and will report to the head of the Clinical Statistics group.  He/she will provide direction and statistical oversight in the entire product development cycle, focusing on all phases of clinical trials.   Responsibilities: Participate in the planning, design, conduct, analysis, and interpretation of clinical studies and research projects.  Perform as project statistician for some projects. Apply statistical techniques to facilitate better decision-making and improve business operation.  Regularly interact with senior management and executive levels in strategy meetings. Contribute to strategic planning to ensure statistically optimized clinical development plans and assist in the creation of strategic objectives for regulatory filings. Participate in mentoring and training employees in the use of these technologies/methodologies.  Participate in planning and carrying out organization development and professional growth of staff statisticians. Collaborate with other statisticians in improving and sharing statistical approaches. Coordinate statistical efforts with outside organizations, CROs, and consultants.  Collaborate with colleagues from other departments within the Clinical organization to achieve departmental and corporate goals. Manage and plan Biostatics resources for Vaccines Therapeutic Area, with supervisory responsibility of at least 2 statisticians.
