Associate Director, Health Economics &Outcomes Research (Oncology)

 

This Search is being conducted on behalf of a global pharmaceutical company that has many successfully marketed Oncology products as well as a rich pipeline. They are seeking to hire an experienced Associate Director level health economics and outcomes research (HE&OR) professional to be a part of one of their key Franchises (either Solid Tumor or Hematology). This position reports to a Director of HE&OR and will be extremely visible.

 

Location: Florham Park, NJ

 

Relocation: A very attractive full relocation package is available for qualifying candidates.

Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for the development and conduct of U.S. Health Economics & Outcomes Research studies consistent with priorities and product strategies of the Company. Specific areas of responsibility include study design & conduct, identification of data sources, data analysis, and publication planning. Will work closely and collaboratively with other functional areas in U.S. Clinical Development & Medical Affairs, U.S. Managed Markets Department, brand teams, and Global Health Economics.

 

·  Develop and implement health economics and outcomes research strategy including development of study design & conduct, identification of data source, and publication plan (including presentations and other methods of dissemination)

·  Work collaboratively across multiple functions (including Oncology Global Development, Global HEOR, US Clinical Development & Medical Affairs, Marketing and Brand International Project Teams) to gain consensus on research plans and approval for publications

·  Represent HE&OR on US Clinical Development & Medical Affairs Medical Product Teams.

·  Work collaboratively with Global Pricing and Health Economics Department as dictated by the phase of development

·  Participate in business planning and annual budgeting process

·  Develop and manage research partnerships with academia, thought leaders, managed care and other customers, and contract research organizations to enhance the impact of outcomes research projects.

·  Attend and present at professional meetings

·  Facilitate the communication of research results to customers through interaction with Scientific Operations, Brand Teams, U.S. Managed Markets, and other key internal customers

 

Compensation: Will vary depending on depth and quality of experience.



 

Qualifications Desired:

 

· MD, Ph.D., MPH, or PharmD are preferred degrees, but not required.

· 3+ years of conducting health economics and outcomes research studies related to pharmaceutical products

· Therapeutic Area Expertise is not required, but experience in Oncology would be a plus.

· Strong knowledge of outcomes research methods, including study design and analysis methods.

· Excellent oral and written skills, as well as established background in developing research collaborations.

· Substantial understanding and experience working within the U.S. health care system.

· Ability to work well in a team environment, as well as independently with limited supervision

· Ability to travel as much as 20-25% of the time.
