Associate Portfolio Consultant Work Location: Not ApplicableShifts: Not ApplicablePositions Available: 1Position Summary Under the general direction of the Director of IT Portfolio Management for Supply Chain (Procurement). This role is responsible for identifying and documenting technology solutions to achieve specific business objectives; manage routine project life cycles and change control processes; work independently or with other Portfolio Associates to deliver strategic solutions by gathering/documenting project information for areas that are not well defined. Application specific responsibilities will include eStrategies, external customer portals, and customer reporting. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Develops a thorough knowledge of business processes and functions associated with several business areas. Reviews request for new functionality or enhancements to existing environment and systems. Conducts interviews and facilitates strategy sessions, requirement gathering, process analysis, and application design sessions with appropriate resources across all levels and functions. Participated in auxiliary research required to meet business needs reaching out for inputs from other sources such as third party (Gartner Research for example). Develops user/business documents based on a formal methodology including process documents, business requirements, risk documents, issues logs and recommendations; establishes project plans, estimates, milestones and schedules. Produces solutions and recommendations that clearly and effectively communicate to all team members and stakeholders across the organization. Facilitates project planning and follow up meetings with project teams. Act as Project Manager on projects depending on expertise and skill level. Conducts routine communication sessions with the business on overall project status and portfolio health, and detailed sessions on specific topics/issues to supply the business with all necessary information for project direction. Identifies corrective actions when project deliverables deviate from establish work plan. Manages project and/or team budgets within guidelines. Participate on cross function teams to develop new approaches toward work assignments, products and services. Participates or leads process modeling and decomposition exercises to assist in business area support and strategy. Establishes effective relationships with other ABC Departments and vendor groups; build and maintain effective business partner relationships. Participates in product and/or service evaluations. Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time. Performs related duties as assigned. Experience and Education Requirements Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program; normally requires a minimum of six (6) years directly related and progressively responsible experience with a focus in one or more of the following business areas: Finance, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain Management, Legal or Human Resources; general technical experience required.
