Position Summary:

 

The Associate Process Development Engineer is responsible for aiding the development of new manufacturing processes, process improvements and investigating new manufacturing technologies associated with new product development. 

 

Specific Responsibilities:

 

· Performs experiments to screen critical process control factors.  Uses experimental design techniques to develop robust processes at the laboratory scale.

· Develops detailed procedures for the new processes and work; and prepares appropriate specifications for materials, components and process control parameters.

· Participates in diverse project teams in the development, optimization, transfer and validation of processes.

· Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of investigation and process design. 

· Prepares comprehensive reports detailing procedures, test methods, results and conclusions of all work.

 

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills Required:

 

· BS/MS in chemical engineering, or related discipline, with 2 to 5 years experience. 

· Strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required. 

· Well-organized individual with ability to handle multiple projects efficiently.

· Experience in experimental design a plus and specific experience in general areas of tissue engineering, biomaterials or drug delivery is a plus.

· Knowledge of aseptic processing, process optimization, and process scaling is also beneficial.
