Associate Procurement Manager

Responsibilities:The Associate Procurement Manager position within Global Procurement Services will assist the Global Procurement Services (GPS) Leadership team in their efforts to provide an exceptional service experience to internal stakeholders and end-users within the R&D environment. The Associate Procurement Manager will be the functional lead to help track and manage large, cross-departmental projects that will support the acquisition process for various indirect materials and services, with specific emphasis on the end user Procurement Processes and Procedures. This position is responsible for providing exceptional Stakeholder service for all projects identified within the Procure to Pay process, acting as the Face of Procurement within the R&D community for assigned projects; for serving as the liaison between R&D user groups and the Procurement department for systems related projects, issues and questions; and for using, monitoring and reporting on various software applications currently used by GPS. The incumbent will provide the GPS Leadership Team with monthly metrics reports as defined. This position publishes monthly reports to procurement staff as directed. He/she will serve as the liaison between multiple departments and tasks to ensure that materials services are properly ordered and delivered as required. This position will coordinate and interact with CIT SAP technical and business support resources to ensure that any systems issues are identified, operate properly and offer maximum efficiency. He/she will participate in the development and implementation of scalable process improvements which lead to delivery stakeholder and GPS efficiencies for the growing transactional volumes. This position will assist the GPS Training Manager by providing both content and department procedures to be included in the GPS Training Manual. This includes both formal and informal training materials that are used by new and existing employees. The incumbent will continually seek process improvement opportunities, and will develop unique and novel solutions to problems, by using intuition and a new way of thinking to generate innovative ideas and presenting the information in an attention getting and interesting manner. This position will manage projects to completion, providing excellent support to various business initiatives and drive change throughout the Procurement organization. He/she will build strong relationships with all end user groups, Vendor Finance, Procurement and Receiving teams. Requirements:The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience). Awareness and experience in multiple business sectors is required. This individual must have the ability to utilize strategic Procurement thinking; to lead, motivate and coach end users and business partners, as well as cross-functional team members; and to build strong relationships across various functional teams. Working knowledge of SAP R 3 systems is required. The incumbent must display excellent communication and influencing skills. Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving capabilities are essential. The candidate must have experience working in Procurement in varying roles such as: Buyer, Purchasing Agent or a Procurement supervisory role. This individual must be highly motivated and results oriented. He/she must act with a high sense of urgency.
