Position Overview

The Associate Scientist I – In Vivo Cytogenetics will conduct pre-designed scientific or engineering experiments using laboratory equipment and calculations. The successful candidate will make detailed observations and analyze data as well as contribute ideas and suggestions to improve standard laboratory techniques, improve protocols, processes and equipment. This position will troubleshoot experiments with the assistance of a supervisor and advise him/her of factors that may affect quality, accuracy and usefulness of data. Additionally, the selected individual will prepare technical summaries and protocols for internal use.

Education Requirements

B.S. in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience, is required.


Experience Requirements

Experience obtained through relevant laboratory class work and working knowledge of experimental design is required. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of basic laboratory techniques, equipment and materials is necessary. Further, the selected candidate must demonstrate the ability to perform, improve and correct instructions when necessary.
