General Job Description

 

MIR Preclinical Services, Inc. (MIR) (www.molecularimaging.com) is looking for a candidate with 2-3 years small animal handling experience to work in its Imaging Section.  This person will be responsible for oversight, execution, data analysis and reporting of preclinical oncology studies in small animals.  The successful candidate will initially be trained in cancer pharmacology and related animal procedures, then be trained across routine use of preclinical imaging systems.  The candidate will develop an understanding of imaging modalities and their preclinical application in vivo.  Substantial client contact and interaction with company management will be required.

Requirements

 

Bachelors level degree in biology, veterinary technology or other biomedical sciences, with at least 2 years small animal handling experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications

 Experience with small animal dosing (PO, IP, IV) and minimally invasive surgeriesExperience with testing of therapeutics in oncology and/or inflammatory/arthritis disease models

 

Specific Duties

 Execution, data analysis and reporting relating to preclinical in vivo oncology studiesDay to day small animal handling, dosing, sampling and minimally invasive small animal surgeries (training will be provided)Day to day routine operation of commercial preclinical MRI, PET, CT and bioluminescence in vivo imaging systems (training will be provided)Interaction with potential and current clients and assisting with design of preclinical testing protocols
