Position Overview

The Associate Scientist, Mammalian Toxicology will conduct routine/designed scientific or engineering experiments using laboratory equipment and calculations. In addition to making detailed observations, analyzing data, and assisting in the interpretation of results, the selected individual will identify and solve elementary problems in experimental designs as well as advise a supervisor of factors that may affect quality, accuracy and usefulness of data. This position will also contribute ideas and suggestions to improve standard laboratory techniques, improve protocols, processes and equipment as well as suggest options for additional experiments.

 

Education Requirements

B.S. in Animal Science, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience, as well as AALAS certification is required.


Experience Requirements

A minimum of 2 years of laboratory experience in a work environment with a B.S., an M.S. with relevant laboratory class work, or the equivalent work experience is required. Candidate must be proficient in the use of basic laboratory techniques, equipment and materials as well as posses working knowledge of experimental design and GLPs. Excellent time management and recordkeeping skills are necessary. Toxicology experience is a plus.
