The Automation Scientist will apply high-throughput screening and combinatorial methods in laboratory work streams to greatly accelerate the rate of research and discovery. The scientist will design and create protocols for automated execution and mentor laboratory personnel on the use of high-throughput screening systems and software. Primary duties will include implementing and improving automated research work streams. Responsibility for writing and maintaining automation protocols. The selected candidate will work in the day to day in high throughput screening activities, creating of protocols for specific systems and the administration and monitoring of automation systems. A BS and 4+ years; MS and 2+ years; or PhD and 0+ years in Analytical/ Physical/ Pharmaceuticals/ Combinatorial Chemistry or Chemical/Materials engineering (or equivalent combination of education and experience) is required. A minimum 2 years of experience in high-throughput research and automation is required. A minimum 2 years experience with Symyx LEA software or other similar software used (Tecan, Thermo Fisher) for high-throughput research is required. Experience in Formulations/ Chemical / Agrochemical / Pharmaceutical Industry a plus. Instrument/Device based projects/experience a solid plus. Experience with process optimization (six sigma, process excellence) a plus.
