BSL-3 Operations Leader

Immediate opportunity to manage the BSL-3 facility in a premiere contract research and development organization.

The position requires at a minimum a BS degree and 5 years of experience in a regulated laboratory environment.

BSL-3 animal laboratory experience where select agents were used preferred.

Experience with IACUC and GLP compliance is a plus.

Must be able to: obtain CDC Security Risk Assessment and DEA clearances, satisfactorily complete a medical clearance to work with select agents and animals in the BSL-3; obtain licensed and investigational vaccinations in the special immunizations program, complete OSHA 40 hour Hazwopper training, and respond to emergencies in the BSL-3.

Must also be able to lift 50 lbs and wear a SCBA and level A suit.

The successful candidate will manage and oversee the BSL-3 facility to ensure operational compliance with BMBL, OSHA standard, NIH Guidelines, CDC/USDA select agent rules, IACUC, USDA GLP requirements, fire and life safety codes and ADEM and EPA disposal regulations. In addition, this individual will be responsible for scheduling room usage of IBC approved studies.

This position will report to the Manager of Safety and Security.
