Bioinformatics Engineer

Occupation: Biotech/R&D/Science Description: The Bioinformatics Engineer will contribute to the development of secondary analysis algorithms for SMRT sequencing data using skills in algorithms development, data analysis, biological insight, and software engineering. The ability to design, test, and communicate results to diverse audiences are also important aspects of this role. Position Requirements:§ A MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science or Physical Sciences, preferably related to computational biology. § 3+ yrs experience in algorithms development for computational biology or comparable schoolwork. Experience in statistical approaches, preferably including exploratory data analysis and Bayesian statistics. Proficiency in at least one of C++, java, or C# is required. Familiarity with a scripting language such as perl or python is also required.
