Biotechnology Paralegal
Marshall, Gerstein & Borun LLP a leading intellectual property firm located in downtown Chicago, has an opening for a Paralegal to support their very busy biotechnology practice.

The Paralegal will assist attorneys, patent agents and technical specialists with regard to the entire patent prosecution process. The paralegal will be responsible for analyzing, organizing and managing polynucleotide and amino acid sequence information, reviewing biotechnology literature and organizing disclosures thereof to patent offices, reviewing and correcting technical drawings, and preparing legal papers incident to the practice of intellectual property law, under appropriate attorney supervision. preparing sequence listings, reviewing IDS materials, facilitating filing responses to sequence listing requests received from various sources, and reviewing and determining whether drawings filed are formal, or need additional work. The paralegal is also responsible for assisting in various other prosecution related matters such as power of attorney requests, amendment responses and response to notice to correct defects.

·                   A bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology or an equivalent biological     Â
          science Â
·                   Strong biotechnological skills Â
·                   Good oral and written communication skills Â
·                   Superior organizational skills
